Newcastle 2-4 West Ham: New season, same West Ham! David Moyes' men fight back after falling behind twice to win SIX-GOAL thriller against Newcastle, with Michail Antonio, Tomas Soucek and Said Benrahma on target at St James' Park

Said Benrahma and Tomas Soucek were among the scorers as West Ham United came from behind to win an unexpectedly thrilling opener at a packed St James’ Park.

Newcastle, buoyed by unveiling £25million signing Joe Willock before kick off, were celebrating a 2-1 lead at half-time with goals from Callum Wilson wearing the club’s famous No9 shirt for the first time and Jacob Murphy.

But David Moyes’ visitors, who qualified for Europe last season, went through the gears in the second period to expose a flimsy Toon defence.

Said Benrahma levelled before Tomas Soucek put his side ahead for the first time by netted the rebound from Michail Antonio’s saved penalty.
