Jack Wilshere reveals the thought of having his one and two-year-old watch him play spurred him on during tough and lonely solo fitness sessions after being let go by West Ham last summer

A desire for his youngest kids to see him play football helped drive Jack Wilshere on as he trained alone on a muddy field in an attempt to revive his career.

Wilshere admitted he found it tough and was in a lonely place when he was trying to keep himself fit in solo sessions after leaving West Ham in October.

Wilshere, 29, was without a club until he re-joined Bournemouth last week though the one-time England midfielder insists he never thought about abandoning his comeback bid.

'My kids seeing me play was one of the reasons why, which inspired me during the tough times in the park and on my own training,' said Wilshere, who scored against Crawley on Tuesday to help Bournemouth into the FA Cup fifth round.
