Gianluca Scamacca is set to face England on Thursday night under a cloud of uncertainty as he changes agencies and considers his future with West Ham.
Reports in Italy on Wednesday suggested Scamacca should start over Mateo Retegui at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium for the Azzurri against the Three Lions on Thursday.
Scamacca, who joined West Ham for £35.5million in the summer, is struggling to get a game for the Premier League team.
He has also been criticised by his manager, David Moyes, for his substandard 'physical data'.
