Genk 2-2 West Ham: Late heartbreak for Hammers as freak own goal from Tomas Soucek ensures they can only draw away at Genk despite brilliant second-half double from Said Benrahma... spoiling the party for David Moyes on his 1000th game as a manager

Great header. Wrong net. Tomas Soucek’s own goal wasn’t how millennium man David Moyes wanted to see in his 1,000th game, as West Ham lost their 100 per cent record in Europe.

The visiting supporters, some of them topless, were singing and dancing in their cramped corner of the Cegeka Arena. Said Benrahma had scored his second of the evening in the 82nd minute and they thought their side was on the verge of qualifying for the Europa League’s next round.

Then Soucek inadvertently helped the hosts to an equaliser in the 87th minute. The party was pooped, but still, West Ham remain top of Group H, a good few points clear of the rest.
