Gareth Southgate has warned player indiscipline will cost England a crack at Euro 2020 glory after James Maddison's controversial Covid breach virtually ended his hopes of gatecrashing the squad.
Leicester playmaker Maddison was axed from Brendan Rodgers' plans for Sunday's defeat at West Ham for a breach of Covid protocols the Foxes described as 'extremely disappointing'.
Maddison frustrated Southgate in October 2019 after being spotted in a casino just 24 hours after withdrawing from the England squad through illness.
Southgate was at the London Stadium on Sunday with a view to watching Maddison - but the Leicester star's indiscipline cost him his chance to impress the England boss.
