Former West Ham boss Slaven Bilic in contention to become new manager of China's national team - reports

Former West Ham manager Slaven Bilic is in the running to become the new boss of the Chinese national team.

Current boss Marcello Lippi’s future reportedly hangs by a thread after the hosts were humiliated in the China Cup in March.

China lost both of their games in the tournament they hosted – a 6-0 loss to Wales, as well as a 4-1 defeat to the Czech Republic in the third-place play-off.

And sources close to The Sun say Bilic is the leading contender to replace the Italian and is reportedly in negotiations to take up the post.
