Declan Rice was the game-changer for West Ham. David Moyes desperately needed control in the middle of the pitch and Rice brought just that. His athleticism to drive forward, commit defenders, to grab the game by the scruff of the neck was immense.
Moyes will be furious at the performance and will know that they got lucky but they have earned a rare day off with how consistent they have been this season.
Rice’s goal was phenomenal. It was like watching Steven Gerrard back in the day marauding forward and dragging his side back into the game in the last minute.
