West Brom defender Ahmed Hegazi has avoided FA action over his alleged punch on Liverpool’s Danny Ings on Saturday.
REPORT: West Bromwich Albion 2-2 Liverpool: Baggies fight back but remain on brink of relegation
The Egyptian would have been facing a three-match ban, ruling him out for the remainder of the season.
The incident happened in the second-half of the 2-2 draw where the two players tangled on the turf and Hegazi was caught by the TV cameras punching the striker in the stomach.
Referee Stuart Atwell did not see the incident so the matter was referred to the FA’s disciplinary panel.
