West Bromwich Albion are said to be in advanced talks with an American businessman over a potential takeover.
The West Midlands-based side currently sit fifth in the Championship table and have impressed under manager Carlos Corberan.
Now, Florida entrepreneur Shilen Patel is rumoured to be in line to takeover Albion's current owner Guochuan Lai, according to Telegraph Sport.
Mr Lai has come under heavy scrutiny after acquiring the club from Jeremy Pearce for more than £200m in 2016.
He declined to pay back a £5 m loan which was paid to one of his companies in June 2021 and has been unably to provide investment outside television money, all while borrowing.
