Tony Pulis has made the remarkable admission that Wales hero Hal Robson-Kanu was not a ‘main target’ before the forward moved to West Bromwich Albion on deadline day.
The manager, hitting back in his battle with the board over transfers, said he would have signed Robson-Kanu, a free agent, at the start of the window had he topped his list.
And he called chairman John Williams ‘wrong’ for issuing a statement that insisted the club delivered on his requests.
Pulis said: ‘Robson-Kanu wasn’t one of my main targets. There are no hints about it. But he was available at the end and we thought he would be a good acquisition.
