Sam Allardyce is set to take over as West Bromwich Albion manager on a short-term deal with talks to thrash out the final details happening on Wednesday.
Current boss Slaven Bilic is set to be sacked and Sportsmail understands negotiations with Allardyce are at an advanced stage.
The former Bolton, Sunderland and England manager is likely to be in place in time for Sunday's local derby against Aston Villa - in what will be his first management job since he was sacked by Everton in 2018.
Bilic has yet to be told that he has been sacked and has been planning on taking training today but a decision was made on his future after the weekend defeat by Newcastle - and before last night's plucky draw with Manchester City.
