West Bromwich Albion defender Chris Mepham says promotion to the Premier League is a "big reason" why he joined the club last month.
The 27-year-old arrived on a three-year deal from Bournemouth for an undisclosed fee after spending last season on loan at Sunderland.
"That feeling of winning games and playing for something is what I really care about as a footballer and you want to feel like you are part of something," the defender told BBC WM.
"The conversations I've had with the boss and looking at the squad from a distance, I feel that this is a club that has underachieved in the past, but there is no reason we can't go and get promoted this year.
