Marcos Alonso 'in talks with Atletico Madrid over January loan' after falling behind Ben Chilwell and Emerson in Chelsea's left-back pecking order having not played single minute for the Blues since September

Marcos Alonso 'could be set for a January loan move from Chelsea to Atletico Madrid' with the two clubs in negotiations.

The 30-year-old left-back has fallen out of favour in Frank Lampard's squad with both Ben Chilwell and Emerson Palmieri above him in the current pecking order.

The Spaniard hasn't been selected in a Chelsea squad for a Premier League fixture since he was substituted off at half-time with Chelsea 3-0 down to West Bromwich Albion on September 26.

The Spaniard, 30, hasn't played a single minute for Chelsea since the end of September

He has subsequently been an unused substitute in four Champions League matches but Emerson has been preferred to him as an alternative to Chilwell in that position.
