Manchester City look set to bolster their defensive options during the January transfer window with Jonny Evans and Ryan Bertrand part of a five-man shortlist.

Pep Guardiola, whose Manchester City side are 15 points clear at the top of the Premier League, wants to add a centre back and left back to his squad.

Evans is attracting interest from several Premier League sides — including Arsenal — but City could tempt him to return to Manchester after leaving rivals United in 2015.
