Maja eyes start but Williams out until New Year

West Bromwich Albion forward Josh Maja could feature in the starting line-up in Friday's Championship match against league leaders Middlesbrough (20:00 BST).

The Nigeria international has only played 16 minutes across three league games so far this season as he makes his comeback from a long-term calf injury.

"I think he's fit enough. He had a very long time out injured and it's about picking the right time for him to get in and stay in," Baggies boss Ryan Mason told BBC Radio WM.

"Every training day at the moment he's progressing, he's getting stronger, he's getting quicker, so that's good news for us.
