Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan came out in defence of fatigued team-mates following a shock 1-1 draw at home to West Brom, insisting players are 'human beings, not machines'.

'We are human beings, not machines, we struggle as well,' Gundogan told BBC Sport.

'We know we could have played better but it feels like it was in the details today.
