Brentford recorded a seventh straight home win to claim a 3-1 victory in what is likely to be the final west London derby against Queen Park Rangers at Griffin Park.
Brentford's front three put the visitors to the sword in the first half, with goals from Said Benrahma, Bryan Mbeumo and Ollie Watkins putting Thomas Frank's side in total command.
Nakhi Wells scored a second-half consolation but it did not prevent the hosts from cutting the gap to Championship leaders Leeds United and West Bromwich Albion to six points.
