Watford have signed former Newcastle goalkeeper Rob Elliot on a six-month deal until the end of the season.
Elliot has been a free agent since the summer after he was released by the Magpies following a nine-year stint with the club.
The Hornets' first choice goalkeeper Ben Foster has missed their last four games with an injury with Daniel Bachmann stepping up in his absence while youngster Adam Parkes has been on the bench.
Elliot, who has four senior caps for the Republic of Ireland, will provide some experience in Foster's absence.
