Watford are looking to sell Juan Carlos Paredes in the January transfer window to former club Barcelona SC in Ecuador.
Paredes, who has 63 caps for Ecuador, joined Watford via Granada in 2014 and made seven Premier League starts and 20 appearances overall last season.
However, the 29-year-old defender has only appeared once under Walter Mazzarri in the extra-time EFL Cup defeat to Gillingham.
The Hornets were left red-faced in the tie and were dumped out of the cup following a 2-1 defeat to the League One club, while Paredes made little impact.
