Watford were dumped out of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday evening after Bristol City came from behind at Vicarage Road to secure an impressive victory.
Etienne Capoue had given the Premier League side the lead just after the break, to elevate the boredom of a tedious first 45 minutes.
However, it was not enough as the second-tier side hit back with goals from Freddie Hinds and Bobby Reid.
Marco Silva's saw his side reduced to 10 men when Jose Holebas was shown a second yellow card in the 88th minute, before Niclas Eliasson grabbed a third goal for the visitors.
