Rob Edwards is revelling in Luton Love affair as his side are one win away from becoming a Premier League club and says he is 'lucky' the club picked him as Nathan Jones' successor, ahead of huge clash against Coventry City

Rob Edwards is one win from becoming a Premier League manager after a ‘wild season’ but says taking over from Nathan Jones was easy.

Edwards, a former FA youth coach, led Forest Green to promotion from League Two last year, which earned him a job in the Championship at Watford — only to be sacked after 10 league matches.

‘People ask me about a winning formula but it comes down to good people,’ said Edwards, 40, ahead of Saturday’s play-off final against Coventry. ‘At Forest Green there were good people, good players, a plan and time.
