Watford winger Ikechi Anya finalised a £3.5million move to Derby County on Wednesday night — as his Scotland team-mate Chris Martin left the Rams for a loan spell at Fulham.
Both players were given permission to leave the Scotland camp ahead of the World Cup qualifier with Malta on Sunday, with winger Anya and burly striker Martin agreeing deals shortly before the 11pm transfer deadline.
Anya, 28, made 138 appearances for Watford, having arrived from Granada in the summer of 2012, and his experience of the Vicarage Road outfit’s promotion from the English Championship could prove vital for Derby.
