Claudio Ranieri has revealed Troy Deeney's intelligence on the pitch was the reason for Leicester's summer pursuit of the Watford striker, but the Italian believes Wes Morgan and Robert Huth are wise to the ways of stopping him.
The Premier League champions made two bids for Deeney, the second worth £25million, before the 28-year-old signed a new five year contract at Vicarage Road and Leicester signed Islam Slimani instead.
As well as a fine campaign on the pitch with 15 goals, Deeney won praise for his analytical dissection on Match of the Day of the defensive resilience employed Morgan and Huth in Leicester's march to the title.
