Ben Foster has spent lockdown cycling and taking part in weekly quizzes with his Watford team-mates, now he insists Nigel Pearson's men are desperate to prove they deserve to stay in the Premier League

Had this been any normal year, Ben Foster would be enjoying a well-earned rest right about now. Feet up, gin in hand.

The football season would be over, Watford's fate decided, and Foster on the other side of a gruelling bike ride from London to Paris last week to raise money for charity Cure Leukaemia.

Foster is a patron of the charity, having got involved with them while recovering from a cruciate injury back in 2015, and, in March, arranged for a 12-year-old Watford fan with leukaemia to be a mascot and led her out on to the field in her wheelchair.
