Gillingham have signed Wigan winger Jonny Smith and defender Travis Akomeah from Watford both on loan deals.
Smith has scored 10 goals in 77 games for the Latics and has agreed a deal with the Gills until the end of the campaign.
The 28-year-old began his career at Wrexham and has also played for Bristol City, Cheltenham, Tranmere, Oldham and Burton.
Smith said it was a "no brainer" to join the early League Two leaders.
Akomeah's deal with Gillingham lasts until January.
The 19-year-old centre-back rejoined the Hornets earlier this year following his departure from Chelsea and could make his Gills debut on Saturday in their trip to Bromley.
