Walter Mazzarri admits he will have to tear up his tactics after Alan Pardew's sacking as Watford prepare to host manager-less Crystal Palace on Boxing Day.

Mazzarri lamented football's manager-sacking culture on Thursday but is equally wary of the threat a team can pose after losing their boss.

Palace, 17th in the Premier League, sacked Pardew on Thursday and are holding talks with Sam Allardyce to replace him.
