Philadelphia 76ers guard Ben Simmons has reportedly requested a trade according to Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer. The situation between Simmons and the team has apparently gone to a point where he doesn’t want to report to training camp anymore, at least with them.
The falling out accelerated during the 2021 NBA Playoffs, where he averaged only 11.9 points per game, but also only made 34 percent of his free throws. Philadelphia advanced to the second round of the playoffs last season. That said, Simmons, while a good scorer (15.9 points per game in his career) has never become an adequate three point shooting threat, something that most point guards in today’s league.
