Young reportedly came to a conclusion that a fresh start would be what's best for him and his career in recent days.
Following a failed attempt to ink a long-term contract extension to stay in Atlanta this offseason, the writing was on the wall for the two sides to go their separate ways, especially after the emergence of breakout star Jalen Johnson this season.
Washington reportedly has kept their tabs on Young's situation since the offseason and when the opportunity for the team to finally land their answer at the point guard position, the Wizards jumped at the chance.
