Wizards lose to 76ers — a look at the numbers

I’m annoyed. Last night I was downright furious. It had nothing to do with the Wizards, who gave the Philadelphia 76ers a game before losing 107-98. Nope, what had me torqued was NBA League Pass.

About 15-16 years ago, I spent several seasons hand-tracking the Wizards defense, at first using the defensive score sheet described in Dean Oliver’s book Basketball On Paper, and then incorporating various modifications I added. Later, I worked with Oliver as he expanded the tracking to include offensive play type, where actions were happening on the court, and other stuff.
