Wizards acquire Spencer Dinwiddie in five-team deal

The Washington Wizards have their point guard.

In a five-team deal, the Wizards acquired veteran Spencer Dinwiddie in a sign-and-a-trade, according to multiple reports — days after the team sent Russell Westbrook to the Los Angeles Lakers for Kyle Kuzma, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Montrezel Harrell and a first-round pick.

Dinwiddie, 28, is a talented scoring guard who shined with the Brooklyn Nets, but is coming off an ACL tear that sidelined him for most of last season. He averaged a career-high 20.6 points per game in 2019-20. He’s been in the league since 2014 when he was a second round pick with the Detroit Pistons.
