After making two straight appearances in the Eastern Conference Semifinals, missing the playoffs in the 2015-16 NBA season was considered unacceptable for the Washington Wizards.
Due to poor roster construction and injuries, the Wizards didn’t make the postseason, failing to build on the most success they have had in the team’s recent history.
This off-season, the Wizards didn’t completely hit the reset button with the belief that they do have a team that’s capable of competing with anyone else in the East.
On paper, a starting unit comprised of John Wall, Bradley Beal, Otto Porter, Markieff Morris and Marcin Gortat seems solid enough to beat any team in the conference that isn’t named Cleveland.
