To no one’s surprise, the Washington Wizards fired Randy Wittman on Wednesday night, creating a vacancy at the head coach position.
Prior to firing the coach, we all assumed that Wittman wouldn’t return to the nation’s capital. After the team made the Eastern Conference Semifinals in back-to-back seasons, the Wizards failed to make the NBA Playoffs this year.
Ernie Grunfeld, per usual, pointed the finger at the head coach instead of the flawed roster and decided that a change was needed.
We all kind of assumed that Wittman would be gone, even if the Wizards made the playoffs.
