The Washington Wizards aren’t attracting any future Hall-of-Famers that are still in the prime of their careers anytime soon. And really, it’s been that way for quite some time.
When Michael Jordan played for the Wizards, he wasn’t Michael Jordan. When Paul Pierce played for the Wizards, he wasn’t Paul Pierce. They kind of resembled the players we grew up with, but they really weren’t.
Still, it was great to see those players rock a Wizards uniform, even if the best versions of themselves were long gone.
The idea of attracting a free agent that used to be great goes beyond the production on the court.
