The NBA Free Agency period is undoubtedly one of the most hectic times in professional basketball. Teams spend years preparing for free agency, and most of the time, they come up short of their goals.
Washington cleared cap space for this summer by acquiring players with short-term contracts, and they started that process back in 2012.
Knowing that Kevin Durant, a D.C. native, would be on the market, the Wizards were hoping to have a chance to bring the hometown hero back to Washington.
That plan flopped hard.
Durant created a list with teams whom he would like to meet with once free agency started and Washington was left off.
