The Washington Wizards agreed in principle to a five-year deal with Scott Brooks last week. Even though Brooks wouldn’t have been my first choice, I still had somewhat of an irrational fear that Brooks would pull a DeAndre Jordan and coach elsewhere. It would be the most Wizard thing ever, after all.
But, thankfully, he didn’t do that.
Brooks received interest from plenty of other intriguing teams with vacancies, including the Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets.
The Rockets are in the NBA Playoffs and obviously have a head coach in place for the time being.
