Washington Wizards Free Agency 2016: Signing Jason Smith, Marcus Thornton Was A Mistake

I’ve always been the person who takes chances when ordering food. More often than not, I end up regretting taking the chance. It either becomes too expensive or it just flat out wasn’t very good.

Jason Smith and Marcus Thornton were the Washington Wizards‘ equivalent of a chance gone wrong.

Instead of waiting for the free agency period to settle down – like they did during the first few days of July – the Wizards rushed things, signing Jason Smith to a three-year deal worth $15 million.

A few weeks later, the team agreed to a deal with Marcus Thornton, who was coming off a miserable season in Washington after getting waived by the Houston Rockets.
