Jeff Green signed with the Washington Wizards on July 3rd, 2018 and agreed to a one-year, $2.5 million dollar deal. This contract was presumably a one-year, ‘show what you have left in the tank’ contract for the 32-year old journeyman. Coming to DC was a sort of homecoming for Green, who hails from Maryland and is a Georgetown University graduate.
Green has never been an all-star and was not signed with the intention of turning around the Wizards franchise. But, he brings a highly valued veteran presence to the locker room and an uncanny level of consistency to the court.
