Tina Charles will miss the next 3-5 games due to left gluteal strain

On Thursday, the Washington Mystics announced in a press release that center Tina Charles will miss the next three to five games due to a left gluteal strain. In other words, Charles has a left buttock injury. It was sustained on Aug. 22 when the Mystics played the Seattle Storm. Charles is averaging a career-high 25.4 points and 9.7 rebounds per game this season.

Since the Mystics are just 9-14 and 10th place in the WNBA standings, this news hurts a lot. There are just nine games left in the season and their next two games, including tonight’s, are against the eighth-seeded Dallas Wings.
