Washington Wizards coach Randy Wittman is unlikely to return for the 2016-17 campaign, The Washington Post reports, citing NBA sources.
The Wizards wrap up their season tonight with a home game against the Atlanta Hawks at the Verizon Center, and the only thing on the line is a chance to finish the season with a .500 record. That is far below what prognosticators anticipated for the team this season.
Next season will be the final year of Wittman's three-year contract, which pays him more than $3 million per season but is not fully guaranteed, the Post reports.
