As the Washington Mystics try to climb back up to .500 in the standings, this home game was huge. The Chicago Sky were 2-5 in their last seven games and were desperate for a win to save their season from being a tanking one.
With less than a minute remaining in regulation, Brittney Sykes drained a three to put the Mystics up 77-74. The Sky responded with a deep three by Rachel Banham to tie the game at 77 a few seconds later.
An unsuccessful coach challenge by the Sky saved the day for the Mystics at that point and a big layup by Shakira Austin gave the Mystics the lead.
