Elena Delle Donne and wife auction handmade hoop to benefit NAACP

Washington Mystics forward Elena Delle Donne and her wife Amanda announced their auction of a one-of-a-kind, handmade hoop they created in their Deldon studio.

In a Nov. 13 tweet, alongside a video statement from the pair, the Mystics star shared that 100% of the proceeds from the art piece will go to the NAACP, short for the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.

Delle Donne revealed they made the hoop to “raise awareness about the way the world idolizes Black culture and Black athletes, but perpetuates institutional and structural racism.
