Washington Wizards guard Bradley Beal will not participate in the NBA’s restart later this month due to a shoulder injury.

Beal had previously been undecided whether to play in the restart, alluding to concerns about his health. Before the season stopped in March, the 27-year-old was enjoying a career year in which he was approaching the franchise’s all-time record for scoring average.

In a statement, the Wizards said Beal is dealing with a right rotator cuff injury.
