On Saturday morning, the USA Basketball men’s national team defeated France, 87-82 to win the Gold Medal in the 2020 Olympics. This is the fourth consecutive gold medal for the Americans and the second silver medal overall for Les Bleus.
Team USA was able to each double digit leads in the middle of the second quarter and led by as many as 14 in the third quarter. However, France was always able to keep things interesting to the very end. When the French were losing by double digits in the second quarter, they quickly made a run to make the halftime score 44-42 for the USA.
