Redshirt freshman linebacker sensation Jahad Wood and emerging junior Nickelback Hunter Dale were named to PFF College’s Pac-12 defensive team of the week based on their advanced statistics. The Cougar defense was completely dominant, so it is not surprising that some of the stars of the game are receiving national recognition. If anything I am surprised there are not more players showing up on the team of the week.
Woods, who has been an absolute revelation after taking over for an injured Peyton Pelluer, recorded 7 tackles with 1.5 going for a loss. Dale (also named WSU’s defensive player of the week by the team) had 10 tackles with 3 coming for a loss and a sack.
