WSU's Mike Leach named AP's Pac-12 Coach of the Year; 6 Cougars players honored

Washington State's Mike Leach is the Associated Press' Pac-12 Coach of the Year for the first time in his four seasons with the Cougars.

Leach led WSU to an 8-4 regular season record, including wins at Oregon and then No. 18 UCLA. Wazzu rose as high as No. 20 in the AP poll before losing to Washington in the Apple Cup.

Leach was also named co-Coach of the Year with Stanford's David Shaw by his Pac-12 peers and was a semifinalist for the George Munger Collegiate Coach of the Year Award.

In addition to Leach's award, the Cougars had six players honored on the AP's All-Pac-12 teams.
