After enduring 11-straight weeks of football without a bye in 2017, Washington State will get a more traditional mid-season breather in 2018.
The Cougars’ 2018 bye week will come conveniently in Week 7, according to the composite 2018 Pac-12 football schedule released by the league Thursday morning.
WSU will play two Friday night games next season, but as the conference made sure to point out in its release, “for each of these contests, the road team will have a home game or a bye the Saturday prior to its Thursday/Friday game.”
This comes after the Pac-12 took heavy criticism this season for its slate of Friday night games that, many argued, put the traveling team at competitive disadvantage if they also played on the road the previous Saturday.
