WSU takes game one against UCLA

That’s a heck of a way to start the weekend. WSU scored three in the bottom of the eighth to beat UCLA 5-2 Friday in Pullman. WSU scored the game’s final five runs after going down 2-0 in the fifth inning.

Connor Barison came in relief in the eighth inning and got all three outs in the ninth via the K to get the win. Starter Brandon White went 6.1 innings, giving up two runs on six hits.

Tristan Peterson hit a two-run dinger in the bottom of the fifth to tie the game at two. It was Peterson’s fifth home run of the season and fourth in as many games.
