WSU Soccer Ties Gonzaga, 1-1 - Washington State University Athletics

PULLMAN, Wash. – The Washington State women's soccer team tied Gonzaga, 1-1, Saturday night at Lower Soccer Field to remain unbeaten at home all-time against the Bulldogs. In the 28th all-time meeting between the programs, WSU freshman scored the first-half, go-ahead goal for the Cougars (4-5-5) before Gonzaga battled back with a late equalizer in the 83rd minute.

The Cougars controlled possession from the start, playing through the midfield and building up play into the attacking third. Wazzu's opportunity came in the 30th minute, when sophomore delivered a corner kick perfectly into the 6-yard box. Mitchell fought for position and headed home her second goal of the season, giving Shackelford her third assist of the year.
