The WSU women’s soccer team knows how to actually close out a game.
They proved it again on Sunday, scoring twice in the second half to beat Pepperdine 2-1 and claim the Rainbow Wahine Shootout in Hawaii. Elyse Bennett got the Cougs on the board then Molly Myers broke a 1-1 tie in the 78th minute to put the Cougs on top for good.
Pepperdine may not have the most impressive record, but recently knocked off No. 1 Stanford and drew No. 5 UCLA. The Cougars made sure Pepperdine didn’t continue its success against the Pac-12.
