WSU quarterback Tyler Hilinski had signs of CTE at suicide, family says

The parents of Washington State quarterback Tyler Hilinski revealed Tuesday morning on NBC’s “Today” show that evidence of chronic traumatic encephalopathy was found in Hilinski’s brain after his death.

CTE is a degenerative brain disease that is caused by excessive hits to the head. It was been found in the brains of many former NFL players, including Andre Waters, Junior Sean, and Rob Kelly, and a study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association last year found CTE in the brains of 99 percent of NFL players and 91 percent of college football players who were examined.
